UI/UX Design

At its core, this project aimed to simplify smart home interactions, transforming complex controls into a visually balanced and user-friendly experience.
This project gave us the opportunity to deeply explore how users interact with connected home devices in real-life scenarios. Our focus was not on adding more features, but on refining how those features are presented and accessed. Every screen was designed to reduce cognitive load, ensuring users can understand device status, controls, and actions at a glance.
A key part of the design process involved mapping realistic user flows, such as adjusting room temperature, monitoring energy usage, or managing multiple devices at once, and removing unnecessary steps wherever possible. Subtle animations, clear feedback states, and consistent interaction patterns were used to guide users without distraction, helping the interface feel responsive yet unobtrusive.
Special attention was given to visual hierarchy, motion balance, and dark-interface comfort to create an environment that feels calm even during extended use. From device grouping and temperature control to energy insights and activity tracking, each interaction was carefully structured to feel natural and predictable. The interface prioritises clarity over decoration, allowing functionality to take centre stage in the experience.
This project stands as a proud moment for our team, reflecting our growing confidence in handling complex digital ecosystems with thoughtful design decisions. It demonstrates our ability to turn technically rich systems into experiences that feel simple, composed, and human, marking an important step forward in our design journey.
