2D & 3D Game Development
Whether you need a hand-crafted 2D side-scroller or a fully rendered 3D world, Saturncube's game development team builds both from the ground up. Our 2D game development covers platformers, puzzle games, casual games, and arcade titles clean mechanics, smooth animation, and tight performance across screen sizes. Our 3D game development spans action games, simulation titles, exploration experiences, and product visualisations that use game engines for interactive 3D environments.
Both disciplines run on the same production pipeline: game design document first, then art and level design, then engine development, then QA, then platform build. Every stage is reviewed before the next begins, so issues are caught early rather than discovered at launch. We work in Unity for most 2D and 3D projects and Unreal Engine for high-fidelity 3D experiences where visual quality is the primary brief.
Whether the brief calls for a clean, minimal 2D aesthetic or a fully immersive 3D world, our development and art teams work together from day one so the engine architecture and the visual direction are always designed for each other, not bolted together at the end of production.
AR / VR Experience Development
Augmented reality and virtual reality have moved well beyond novelty. Training simulations, architectural walkthroughs, product configurators, retail try-on experiences, and branded immersive games AR/VR is now a serious delivery format for brands and enterprises that need to show rather than tell. Saturncube builds AR/VR experiences for business use cases, not just consumer entertainment, which means the experiences we deliver are practical, performant, and usable outside a demo environment.
Our AR development covers mobile AR (ARKit for iOS, ARCore for Android) and marker-based and markerless experiences. Our VR development targets Meta Quest, PC VR (SteamVR), and WebXR. We handle the full build 3D asset creation, environment design, interaction design, and performance optimisation with QA testing on physical hardware, not emulators. The user flow and spatial interface are designed for the specific use case from day one, not added as a layer on top of a generic template.

Multiplayer & Online Game Development
Multiplayer games are a fundamentally different engineering problem from single-player titles. Real-time synchronisation, lag compensation, server-side game state management, matchmaking logic, and scalable backend infrastructure are each non-trivial problems that can make or break the experience for every player simultaneously. A multiplayer game that performs well for 10 concurrent users and falls apart at 1,000 is a launch failure waiting to happen.
Saturncube builds multiplayer games with production-grade backend architecture from day one. We use Photon, Unity Netcode, and custom dedicated server setups depending on scale and real-time requirements, covering turn-based multiplayer for casual and strategy games through to real-time competitive and persistent online worlds. Every social layer leaderboards, friend systems, in-game chat, and push notifications is scoped alongside the core game, not added as an afterthought.
Mobile Game Development
Mobile is the largest gaming platform in the world and the most demanding to build correctly. Device fragmentation, battery constraints, touch input design, app store compliance, and performance across entry-level to flagship hardware all require a different discipline than PC development, not just a smaller screen.
Saturncube builds in Unity for cross-platform iOS and Android deployment, optimising draw calls, memory usage, and load times for mid-range device targets. We integrate monetisation systems IAP, rewarded ads (AdMob, Unity Ads), and subscriptions and handle full App Store and Google Play submission and certification. QA includes extended play session testing for memory leaks, battery benchmarking, and compatibility across a real device matrix. Post-launch update cycles and crash monitoring are included.

Game Art & Asset Creation
A game’s visual quality is the first thing players judge and the last thing they forget. Weak art direction, inconsistent character styles, flat environments, and animation that doesn’t feel right undermine player trust before the first mechanic is encountered. Our in-house game art team handles everything from 2D character design and sprite animation to 3D modelling, environment art, and game UI/UX, with no outsourcing to third-party vendors whose style may not match the project.
Assets are delivered in production-ready formats for Unity or Unreal Engine, with naming conventions and folder structures that match the project’s codebase. Art and development work in the same pipeline asset specifications are set by engine constraints from the start, and art direction is maintained consistently from the first concept sketch through the final in-game render.
Game Testing & Optimization
Game testing is not the same as software testing. Beyond functional bugs, game QA covers performance profiling across device types, frame rate stability under load, memory leak detection, physics and collision edge cases, multiplayer desync scenarios, and platform certification checks issues that only emerge through actual play. A game released without proper QA testing will produce negative reviews that outlast any marketing spend.
Our game testing process runs alongside development, not after it functional QA at each milestone, performance profiling on physical target devices (not emulators), regression testing after every build, and pre-submission certification review against Google Play, Apple App Store, and Steam requirements. For multiplayer titles, load testing runs against projected concurrent user numbers before launch. Issues caught during development cost a fraction of what issues caught after launch cost.

FAQ
Cost varies based on game type, platform, art style, and feature complexity. A hyper-casual mobile game is significantly less expensive than a 3D multiplayer PC game. We provide a detailed estimate with a cost breakdown after a free discovery call — no obligation required.
A simple mobile game with defined scope typically takes 3 to 6 months. Mid-core games with multiplayer or 3D art run 6 to 12 months. Larger titles take longer. We share a realistic timeline after reviewing your GDD or concept — and we deliver milestone builds throughout so you always see progress.
We work with both. Unity is our primary engine for mobile games, 2D games, AR/VR experiences, and cross-platform projects. Unreal Engine suits high-fidelity 3D PC and console games. We recommend the right engine based on your platform, art style, team size, and budget — not personal preference.
Yes. We design and build real-time multiplayer games using Photon, Mirror, Netcode for GameObjects, and dedicated server infrastructure. We handle matchmaking, session management, server deployment, and anti-cheat integration so your multiplayer backend is production-ready.
Yes. We build AR games for iOS and Android using ARKit and ARCore, and VR experiences for Meta Quest, HTC Vive, and PC VR platforms using Unity XR and the Meta SDK. We have delivered AR authentication and immersive experience projects for clients in media and entertainment.
Yes, completely. On final payment, all source code, art assets, audio files, and project files are transferred to you in full. There are no licensing fees, no ongoing royalties, and no vendor lock-in. Your game is yours.
Yes — this is a common engagement. We review your existing codebase, assess what is worth keeping, and propose the most efficient path forward. We can take over development, add features, optimize performance, or fix critical issues on any Unity or Unreal Engine project.

Saturncube Technologies have been in business with my small private practice, Sydney Adult Speech Pathology, since August 2014 and have produced the finest of services. I first required a web design and going live but has since moved on to many other services including ongoing maintenance of website, letterhead and business card designs. I highly recommend Saturncube Technologies for any business services as no request was too small and the work was conveniently prompt every time. Saturncube Technologies were very reasonably priced and I negotiated on a few pieces of work the more services I utilized with them. Highly recommend!
